Have we ever experience asking ourselves why we are here and what’s life is all about? At times, we tend to overlook those practical things that comprise our existence in this world. We tend to do things on our own and proudly stand up persuading ourselves that we are good enough and that we are satisfied with our own strength. Yes, we probably can say that, but the truth is, apart from God we are nothing and that we cannot do things on our own. Without God in the picture, everything is meaningless as though chasing after the wind. Life is a matter of being dependent, not with our own strength but of God’s.
God was thinking of us long before we ever thought of Him, He is more than a father who wanted his children to be dependent on Him in every area of our lives. Being dependent means relying into God, surrendering our own strength and humbly accepts the fact that God is more able than we are. Would that be a great revelation for all of us? At the first place, we were never alone. According to Rick Warren, one of the best authors in this time, trusting God completely means having a faith that He knows what’s best for our lives.
Regardless of the rushing schedules coming on our way, let’s take a moment to pause and digest these thought for a while. Are we willing to just open up our hearts to our loving father? Are we eager to take a further altitude of relationship with Him, not just on an M.U (mutual understanding) basis but a deeper connection with Him every day of our lives? Are we prepared to just surrender our own strength and our lives to be dependent on Him alone?
Apart from Christ, we are nothing, but here is the good news, we can do everything through Christ who gives us strength. (Philippians 4:13)
Being dependent on God brings out the best things in life. Be prepared for great things are yet to come. ? -Sheila Letrada (contributor)
