Education Ranks First in Literary Competition

         The School of Education has again put name in prestige after winning this years’ Literary Competition.



Representatives from different departments of the college (CAS, SBME, Education, Nursing, Criminology, Engineering and VTI) competed in various categories such as Essay Writing contest, Story Telling, Character Impersonation, Oration and Impromptu Speaking.
Held at the Arts, Graduate and Professional School Bldg Auditorium last November 29, 2012, the said event was sponsored by the SSG headed by Mr. Jeffey Cagas and was spearheaded by the CAS English Teachers as the Oversight Committee.

        The first part of the literary contest was the essay writing held at GP 205 of the GPS Bldg 9 AM of Nov. 29. Participants were given a certain topic and one and a half hour to work on with their composition. At exactly 1:30 PM of the same date, participants of the oratorical, storytelling, impromptu speaking and character impersonation categories have done their part at the GPS Auditorium.

        Among the judges were the ABC HS Instructor and a coach for several literary events; Mrs. Christine Natalie Munoz. Another instructor from SMA who is also considered as expert in this field of literary is Mr. Edward Mira along with Mrs. Rosemarie P. Miranda, President of ZN Press Club was the chairman of the board.
Proclamation of winners followed after the showcase of talents.

       The following are the winners from different categories respectively: Essay writing: Nursing, Education, CAS; Oration: Education, CAS, SBME; Impromptu: Nursing, SBME, CAS; Storytelling: Education, Nursing, SBME; Impersonation: Education, VTI, and SBME.

       The School of Business Mgt Education (SBME) got the third place for the over-all ranking, while the School of Nursing got the second over-all rank. After being proclaimed as the over-all champion last September, the School of Education proved that they are the most talented department after besting from all other departments and was proclaimed as this years’ Literary Champion.
