Proving that the spirit of sportsmanship and camaraderie is well and alive among the ABCollege community, the Andres Bonifacio College recently held its Intramural Athletic Meet 2012.
The opening ceremony started with a parade from ABC rotunda at exactly 8:00 am, participated by the: Marshal, Philippine Flag and ABC Colors, ABC Band, SSG, Graduate School, Law, CAS, Education, SBME, Engineering, Criminology, Nursing and VTI.
Meanwhile the parade was accompanied by the Faculty and Staff from different colleges together with their respective Mr. and Ms. Intrams candidates who were holding the banner.
A short program took place after the parade at ABACC. Atty. Josh Pacatang, Dean, School of Law gave the opening remarks, as he warmly addressed the jampacked crowd that bucked the sunny day.
The ever hadworking and dedicated College President Mr. Sancho S. Amatong formally opened the event after the entrance of the delegation headed by the Council Governors.
The lively and charged opening rites commenced with the lighting of the Intramurals torch by Mr. Lucresio B. Paloma-Champion, 800-m Run, PRISAA 2012 for the entrance of friendship flame. Then SSG President Robemar Benitez led the entire student athletes in the athlete’s oath.
The visibly-in-awe crowd witnessed the Martial Arts exhibition known as Aikido presented by the selected Criminology students, and also the Banner Sports Raising brought by the Governors of each department.
As a form of an icebreaker, the presentation of the drop-dead gorgeous muses and handsome escorts smitten with their alluring looks made the crowd wild.
The program was closed by the ever hardworking Mr. Julius Elopre, our DASAS Director and College Registrar.
Students from every department actively participated the following games: Basketball, softball/baseball, volleyball, soccer, frisbee, table tennis, sepak takraw, badminton, chess, dart, billiard, relay, track, jumping and throwing events.
The School of Business Management Education (SBME) outmaneuvered the other participating colleges garnering 49 gold medals followed by the Criminology Department with 33 gold medals and Engineering Department with 32 gold medals.
The SBME athletes as well as the students and faculty members were very happy for their successful win over the Crimebusters who were hailed as Over-all Champion for how many years.
The night of September 14 was the closing of the Intramural Meet together with the celebration of Indigay 2012 Musical Competition at ABACC through awarding the over-all winners.
Engr. Isidro Geografo formally closed the Intramural Athletic Meet 2012 being the over-all chairman of the said event.
